Shape of Dreams: Breathe Life Into the Wooden Doll

“Breathe life into the wooden doll” is the unlock condition for Shell, the assassin puppet Traveler. The matching official achievement is called Reactivated, and 57.1% of players had earned it at the time of writing. The reason the rest have not is simple: the objective is one line of text with no marker.

What you are looking for

The task sits in the forest-themed world. Two objects matter there:

• Hidden souls. Small glowing pickups scattered across the map. The minimap marks them, but the marks are tiny and easy to walk past while you are fighting.
• The wooden doll itself. A statue-like interaction point. It does nothing until the souls are collected.

Community runs describe three souls per attempt. Treat that as a working number rather than a fixed rule, and collect whatever the minimap shows before you leave the map.

Step by step

1. Enter the forest-themed world. Keep an eye on the minimap as soon as you arrive.
2. Clear the rooms you need, but detour for every soul marker you see. Skipping one means repeating the whole objective next run.
3. Watch for the doll while you explore. Note where it is so you can return without a fight.
4. Once every soul is collected, walk to the doll and interact with it.
5. The Reactivated achievement pops on activation, and Shell appears in the Travelers screen from then on.

What goes wrong

The run ends first. There is no partial credit described anywhere for this objective, so an unfinished attempt is just an unfinished attempt. Do not go hunting for souls while a boss is chasing you.

The activation does nothing. A launch-week report described the interaction failing on some attempts. If you interact and nothing happens, finish the run, start a new one, and repeat the steps. Reported cases cleared on the second attempt.

You are looking in the wrong world. This is a forest map objective. If the map is snow, cave or starfield, the doll is not there.

What you get

Shell is a melee attacker with a Very Hard difficulty label, the only one in that bracket. He swaps between two stances on every basic attack: one stance turns his laceration into a wide area attack, the other turns it into a dash strike. He has the smallest health pool of the roster and almost no sustain, so if you want the fantasy of a puppet assassin, expect to earn it.
