Shape of Dreams Characters: All Nine Travelers
All nine Shape of Dreams Travelers with their combat role, difficulty label and unlock condition, from the two starters to Cetus and the wooden doll Shell.
Shape of Dreams has nine playable characters, called Travelers. Lacerta and Mist are available immediately and the other seven need unlocking. Every Traveler has a different weapon, a different combat rhythm and their own Constellation to fill in, and progress on that Constellation is kept even when a run fails.

The unlock conditions for Bismuth, Yubar, Aurena, Shell and Cetus are written out word for word in the game’s official achievement list, which is the most reliable public source for them. Role and difficulty labels come from the in-game Traveler screen.
Two kinds of unlock condition
Most conditions are cumulative and permanent. Collecting 450 Dream Dust or healing 25,000 health across dozens of runs still counts, so simply playing the game moves you forward.
A few are single-run. Keeping movement speed above 900 for three seconds, or activating the wooden doll, has to happen inside one adventure. If the run ends first, you start again on the next attempt.
Which Traveler to unlock first
Sort the list by how much work each one takes rather than by tier lists:
- Bismuth needs one movement-speed spike, which two Essences can produce in a normal run.
- Yubar only needs Dream Dust, which you earn whether or not you win.
- Aurena wants healing output, so play a support-leaning build and let the counter climb.
- Nachia needs twelve Demon of the Forest kills — a deliberate grind.
- Shell and Cetus are single-run objectives with specific map tasks, so read those two pages before you start.
Where to check your progress
Open the Travelers screen from the main menu. Locked entries show the condition in plain text, and cumulative counters update as you play. Anything you have not finished stays visible, so you never have to guess which condition is still open.
